iPhone app BillGuard Helps Keep the Grey Away

Founded by Israeli serial entrepreneur Yaron Samid, BillGuard’s consumer protection service has been around since 2011. It was launched for the purpose of detecting fraudulent credit card charges via computer desktop. But CEO Samid has seen beyond protecting consumers only from fraud; BillGuard’s new app alerts users to any new or unusual charges that may be legitimate, but perhaps forgotten about. Research shows that 5% of unwanted credit card charges are fraudulent, but a whopping 95% are grey charges, such as unwanted memberships or subscriptions, or subtly increasing monthly fees.
